The Sösdala Horsemen is published

The Sösdala Horsemen and the Equestrian Elite of Fifth Century Europe, edited by Charlotte Fabech and Ulf Näsman, has been published by the Jutland Archaeological Society. It is the first full scientific publication of the Sösdala horse gear from Scania, and of the equestrian elite of fifth-century Europe to which it belonged.

The objects were photographed for the book in the summer of 2016, with the same set-up first worked out at Sandby borg. It was the first time the method was used beyond the excavation it was made for — on material from another site and another context — and the pictures could be laid side by side with those from Sandby borg as if they had been taken in the same sitting.
